Daughters Unto Devils - By Amy Lukavics

Daughters Unto Devils - By Amy Lukavics

I was sent this book to review by Maximum Pop Books, I was sent some question to answer regarding the review.

  1. First things first, did you read this book at night? If so, did you regret it?
I didn't read this book at night due to the other reviews I read, I did read late evening though which was just enough to creepy me out.

2. What kind if scary would you say this book is?

I would say the book is quite creepy and disturbing at some points, but I think it was quite far into the book before there was much of the disturbing parts of the story. It did take me quite a while to get into the book, but once the story started developing more it became more gripping.

3. Favourite Character?

I wouldn't really say that I had a favourite character, they all showed different parts of themselves that were good to the story, so I couldn't really chose a favourite.

4. What did you think of the setting?

I think it was a good setting I could really visualize it all, I loved how it all reminded me of the program Little House On The Prairie, it was all described with all the detail needed to place a good image in your head.

5. Did it shock you?
I wouldn't say it shocked me, it more creeped me out and gave me the chills.

6. Rate out of 10

Id rate the book probably a 7 out of 10, only because I thought it took quite a while for things to start to develop and things to starting creeping me out.

I want to say Thanks to Maximum Pop Books for giving me the chance to review this book.

Blood Rose - By Danielle Rose

Blood Rose - By Danielle Rose

Avah Taylor has been given a death sentence, she has been chosen to wield "The Power" the ultimate weapon against the immortal vampire species in which witches have been at war with for centuries. But on the night of her birth Right, Avah's coven is attacked and she's left for dead.

This book had everything I love with Vampire novels and more. It has Romance, Suspense, action and to top if off it had witches, and what a way to end the first book!
Danielle Rose wrote this novel wonderfully and I cannot wait to read the next in the series.

Likes:
  • I love how the vampires are portrayed in this book, I know there are always Bad and Good Vampires and Vampire Hunters in most Vampire Stories, but I love that she made special Vampires that had abilities the Hunters in the Vampire World, and they hunted the Bad Vampires called the Rogues.

  • I loved the slow growing relationship and connection between the two main characters Avah & Jasik! I loved the kind of  inner monologue Avah  would have herself saying that she was meant to hate vampires and she was brought up to Hunt them and when she realizes all that she was taught was lies, she embraces what she becomes and lets the relationship between her and Jasik develop.

  • Also Avah is a very strong character, at first she faces some struggles with her upcoming powers, then she faces the challenge of accepting herself when she becomes the one thing she hates the most. She struggles again but she pulls through with Jasik by her side. She has new found powers waiting to be discovered and I cannot wait to to find out how they develop.

  • I love the setting, I can imagine it and picture everything they see, from the description Danielle gives. Also I must say I would love my own Jasik!
Dislikes:

  • I can't really connect with the character Lillie, you never really find out what her problem is with Avah, but I would like to find out more about her maybe with a backstory. I also think a backstory for Malik and Jasik would be good too, so you get to see their journey and how they became part of the coven.

  • Avah's mother, Well.... I fully understand that they are part of a witch coven and they have strong beliefs about Vampires but can she not realize Blood is thicker and should help Avah, before its too late.

I'd recommend this to all New Adult Vampire lovers and Witch Lovers it is Paranormal, it has spells, Romance, Suspense and Action... And I Love It...!

I's Rate This 4 / 5 Stars

Firewalker (Worldwalker 2) - By Josephine Angelini

Firewalker (Worldwalker 2) By Josephine Angelini

Josephine Angelini returns with another amazing book in the Worldwalker Trilogy.
This is time in Firewalker, Lily returns home with Rowan by her side, trying to hide her magic in her version of the universe, but ruthless ruler of the Thirteen Cities Lillian isn't going to let her go that easy.

Lily Lily Lily.... So what have you and your coven discovered? This book was a thrilling as the first and darker in places. It took me a while to get started not because I didn't like the story but I just kept stopping and starting and not finding the time to read, but i must admit once I finally sat down and read, i was captivated and couldn't put it down until I had finished it.
With the cliffhanger ending - Waiting for the next one will be really hard!

Likes:
  • The story did definitely keep me turning the pages, I just couldn't get enough. My heart was racing as you never knew what was going to happen next! My imagination was running wild trying to work what could happen next, but Josephine definitely gives you no idea what is about to come.

  • I love when a book goes into depth about certain things like the location and characters appearance etc, as i love having a picture in my mind as I read a story, and Josephine's descriptions does that for me. In Firewalker especially I like how much more depth she went into when describing the Woven and their different types compared to the first book .

  • This book gave me lots of different emotions when reading it, from anger, to laughter and crying. I must admit at one point I was yelling with frustration and tears running down my face due to a favorite character of mine disappointing me, but further on in the story I'm sure he has an altera motive in his actions (I'm Hoping), But all will have to read to find out.

  • I also love that new characters were introduced into the story, that were in the same position as Lily in the beginning of not knowing where they belong.
Dislikes:
  • My main dislike is that I have to wait so long for the next one, especially with the ending.

  • Also I think Lily kept a lot more secrets/information from Rowan in terms of Lillian, I know the reason she kept the secrets were to protect him, but in the first book she told him everything that happened, whether that was to do with her or Mind speak with Lillian.
Favorite Quotes:

"I'm A Witch, and Witches Burn"
"Love is being willing to become the villain so that the one you love can stay a hero"

I would recommend this book for Young Adults who love stories about Witches, World Jumping, Friendship & Loyalty.
I would rate this book 4.5 / 5 Stars
